Ecopolis was founded in 1996 and is a branche of Legambiente.
Since 1996, Ecopolis collaborates on a project to help the victims of Chernobyl with awareness raising, fundraising, collection of medicines and providing medical care in contaminated areas.
Since 1999 works with the Association Vivamazzonia to an education project in a school in the Amazon Forest.
Since 2002, the association is partner of the Project "humus" for the building of greenhouses for the production of uncontaminated products in the territories affected by Chernobyl.
Since 2003, is also active in Swaziland with a project for orphans affected by AIDS and since March 2004 the group is active with a program that provides to monitoring of childs in the community of Kamboke and Shewula. Here it's actived a programme of distance adoptions, also.
Ecopolis participates each year in the organization and management of national festival of Legambiente, "Festambiente." In particular, It's responsible of promoting of typical italian kitchen and of the local products of Maremma.
